Star Cinema Managing director Malou N. Santos confirmed on an exclusive article by Manila Bulletin today that Kapamilya Star Angel Locsin will play Darna on the big screen! Yes, it's official Angel Locsin is Darna is STAR CINEMA Presents Mars Ravelo’s DARNA!

STUDENTS AND CAMPUSES (SCB): May capability na ba tayo to make a big special-effects film?
MNS: Sa ngayon, I think the best production outfit na may ganung kapasidad is Reality. That is why we have a partnership with them. In fact, when we bought the Mars Ravelo stories, gusto namin isa-pelikula ang Darna kung sino so Darna sa panahon ngayon. Definitely, the effects will be different from the past Darna movies. Kasi if you will not showcase the different effects, sasabihin, ano ang binigay na bago? Kaya pinag-aaralan kung ano ‘yung ibibigay na bago.
We’re also doing a remake of the “Magic Temple” with Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. Bagong special effects din ang gagawin. In fact, we’re thinking of doing a franchise of Magic Temple na limang pelikula. ‘Pag may may Magic Temple, magkakaroon ng “Magic City,” etc. So five stories na tuloy-tuloy.
SCB: Ano ‘yung timeline ng Darna at Magic Temple?
MNS: The first draft of the script of Magic Temple already arrived. For Darna, we’re already done with the story of her past. We’re already brainstorming. We’re targeting next year for filming. So tuloy-tuloy na ‘yun.
SCB: Sino ang gaganap na Darna?
MNS: Si Angel (Locsin).
